Export Packing and Documents
Tube for export is bundled, protected against corrosion and damage, and marked so each size can be identified on arrival. Thin-wall and small-diameter tube is normally boxed or crated. If your site has limits on bundle weight or length, state them so the packing suits your unloading equipment.
A shipment is normally accompanied by the commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading or airway bill, the mill test certificates and, where needed, a certificate of origin. Tell us about any extra document your customs authority or customer requires before the order is confirmed.
Delivery Terms
State the delivery term you want the price based on, for example ex-works, FOB the Indian port, or CIF or CFR to your port, so offers can be compared like for like. Sea freight suits most orders; air freight is an option for small urgent lots. Region-specific notes are given for the USA, Europe, the UAE and Australia.
Protecting Tube During Sea Transit
A container at sea goes through large swings in temperature and humidity, and condensation can form on steel inside it. Tube for export is therefore oiled or otherwise protected and wrapped before packing. Bundles are strapped and blocked so they cannot shift, and thin-wall sizes are boxed to prevent dents. On arrival, unpack promptly, check for moisture and wipe and re-oil any surface that has started to discolour. If the shipment will stand for a time before use, say so, and ask for packing suited to longer storage.
