Does the MTC remain valid for custom-cut pieces?
Yes. The MTC is issued for the heat lot of the full-length tube. Cut pieces from that heat lot retain the same heat lot traceability. The MTC applies to all cut pieces from the same heat of material.
Can I order a single short piece of 4130 tubing?
Send the size and length. Short pieces of available sizes can often be supplied.
How much extra length should I allow for notching?
Enough to cover the depth of the notch at each end plus a trimming allowance. If in doubt, give the finished length and the joint type.
